EDITORIAL – #BloodyMonday: The Inspector General Of Police Must Not Prolong The Investigation’s If His Hands Are Clean As Proclaimed – Who Gave The Orders To Shoot???

SHARE

Although it’s expected that the office of the “Inspector General Of Police” will and must have to come out and issue a statement; following the callous and barbaric act (Cold-Blooded Murder Of Innocent Citizens) carried out by the officer’s under their direct command but did the Press release answered any of our questions?

We at “Unifying Newspaper” are on record to have initially demanded an answer, in our first publication, to our legitimate question as to WHO gave them (Para-Military Personnel) the orders to SHOOT – But guess what???

http://http://unifyingradio.com/breaking-news-three-villagers-of-faraba-bantang-massacred-by-para-military-personnel’s-who-gave-them-the-orders-to-shoot-and-kill-our-innocent-citizens/

Hours later, the office of the ‘Inspector General Of Police’ issued a statement that can be best described as VAUGE, by all definitions. Please take time to read it and be your own judge folks.

Office Of The IGP Says It Did Not Authorize The Use Of Fire Arms

The Office of The Inspector General of Police wishes to bring to the attention of the General Public that in the early hours of 18th June 2018, residents of Faraba Banta and personnel of The Gambia Police Force were involved in a clash that led to the regrettable death of Bakary Kujabi and Ismaila Bah and injury to several others.

The Office of the Inspector General of Police wishes to make it clear that it did not authorize the use of firearms and will investigate the circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident.

The Office of the Inspector General of Police wishes to express sincere condolences to the bereaved families and promise that appropriate action will be taken.
The community of Faraba Banta is hereby urged to keep the peace, be law abiding and refrain from violence while investigations are launched.

Thank you

Arguably, one will expect that the Office to the IGP will issue a press release but to quickly distance themselves from the crimes committed by the officer’s under their direct command begs more questions than answers.
Like I responded to your vague statement on my Facebook timeline: I  WILL AGAIN SEIZE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ASK YOU FEW MORE QUESTIONS AND ARE AS FOLLOWS: LANDING KINTEH, IN YOUR CAPACITY AS THE ‘INSPECTOR GENERAL OF OUR POLICE FORCE’, IF IT WASN’T YOUR COMMAND, THEN WHO’S WAS IT???
WAS IT AN ORDER DIRECTLY COMING FROM YOUR COMMAND-IN-CHIEF OR FROM THE ‘MINISTER OF INTERIOR’???

#IGP LANDING KINTEH, IF ONE IS TO GO BY YOUR STATEMENT, ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT YOUR MEN ACTED WITHOUT YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND THAT SOMEONE ELSE MUST HAVE ISSUED THE ORDERS FOR THEM TO USE “LIVE BULLETS” BUT NOT FROM YOU OR YOUR OFFICE???

IF SO, THEN DO PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU PROVIDE US WITH THE NAME OR NAMES OF ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN OVERRIDING YOU AS THE MAN IN CHARGE OF OUR POLICE FORCES, LEADING TO THE TRAGIC LOST OF OUR FUTURE LEADERS.

#NB: “WHO GAVE THEM THE ORDERS, IS ALL WE ASKING FOR AT THIS HOUR AND #GAMBIANS DO DESERVE AN HONEST ANSWER TO THIS SPECIFIC QUESTION BEFORE WE CAN PROCEED IN OUR QUEST TO RESTORE SANITY IN OUR MOTHERLAND”.

Furthermore,  ENSURE THAT THE INVESTIGATION YOU NOW SUPPOSEDLY LUNCHED WILL NOT BE PROLONGED BECAUSE YOU MUST HAVE KNOWN THAT YOUR MEN WERE BEING DEPLOYED AND ALL THOSE ASSIGNED TO GO TO ‘FARABA BANTANG’ MUST HAVE BEEN REGISTERED, JUST IN CASE, FOR POSTERITY, RIGHT?
SO FRANKLY, IT SHOULDN’T TAKE ANY LONGER (AT LEAST 24/48 HRS)THAN NECESSARY TO BRING THE CULPRITS TO JUSTICE, IF AT ALL YOUR HANDS ARE CLEAN AS YOU PUBLICLY PROCLAIMED IN YOUR “SELF-EXONERATING” STATEMENT.

Besides, the undeniable truth is that all those deployed (Para-Military Personnel) to Faraba Bantang to deal with the peaceful protesters are under the direct command of the IGP and Minister of Interior, so is either the case that the current IGP is ‘CLUELESS’ of his ‘LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES’ or he is blatantly insulting our collective intelligence as a nation, by attempting to distance himself and his office from the barbarity inflicted on our innocent citizens by his men in uniform.

Whichever the case, we at “Unifying Newspaper” will again remind the current government officials that, Gambians are certainly NOT FOOLS TO BE FOOLED BY FOOLS in this 21st Century. My natural conclusion is, the Outright denial of any responsibility by the office of the Inspector General of police only goes to speak volume because he/they must have suddenly come to the realization that, heinous crimes have already being committed under his reign as #IGP and heads must have to roll in our quest for justice for the victims of #BloodyMondayMassacre.

Therefore, it is safe for us (Unifying Newspaper) to argue that the Press release from the Office Of The Inspector General Of Police was NOTHING but a desperate attempt to “EXONERATE THEMSELVES AND CONCEAL THE TRUTH” – And hopefully DEFLECT the attention from (him) those at the High-Chain-Of-Command.

BUT TO GIVE THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, We are patiently waiting to see the outcome of the launched investigation by the Office Of The Inspector General Of Police, and until then, we all ears and our eyes are wide open.

THE WORLD IS CLOSELY WATCHING….
