EDITORIAL COLUMN: Enjoy The Car-Crashed Interview With Demba Ali Jawo -Information Minister- What Should We Expect From ‘Square Pegs In Round Holes’?

SHARE

Frankly, I was scratching my head for days after listening to DA Jawo’s interview with the BBC- focus on Africa- But couldn’t make any sense of it at all because he said nothing nor was he able to even convince his interviewer let alone those of us (Gambians) he was representing on that global stage as our supposed information minister.

The social media platforms erupted as the shockwaves swept across because of his rather embarrassing performance which beats the wildest of our imaginations because we use to hold him with high regards as one of the best intellectuals back in the hay days of our supposed struggle that never was.

I came across the posting of GDC’s Batch Samba and I must say that I totally agreeD with his views and take on the Car-Crashed Interview of our incompetent Information Minister.

This is what he said on his timeline post:, – “Da Jawo-the information minister’s eloquence vanished as he was unable to brilliantly project the government’s accomplishments for the past year if there was any during his interview on BBC. Indicating, that people can talk and move about freely as an accomplishment was a weak and pointless argument in my opinion.

As the saying goes, where there is incompetence, one must look to the top. Our hopes have been betrayed and we are terribly disappointed. President Barrow and his administration are not above criticism, not only can they handle and survive it, they need it.
The president must tighten his belt to meet the material needs of the masses since the government came into being, there’s no nearer solution in helping tackle the major challenges impeding our country’s progress
..

One year has gone by and there’s still no proven and sober satisfaction that the government is doing great. This failure is as a result of incompetence and betrayal from within and exploited by those with special capacity.

In conclusion, the bright rays of enlightenment which we all hoped for, has not fallen on this government. Our government has increasingly displayed their incompetence and their inability to govern. And Gambians are lost in despair as our economy keeps performing poorly.. End Quote.
